Volunteer Agreement
Volunteers agree as follows:

Volunteer agrees to donate services to charity. Said services shall include but may not be limited to, the following:

Moving, carrying, displaying, cleaning, wrapping, and distributing toys, books, clothing, accessories, shoes, hygiene products, diapers, baby and infant items, food, or any other donated items that will be distributed at an event. Greeting and assisting clients as they choose gifts, school supplies, clothing, or food. Assisting other volunteers with the above and similar tasks/actions. Reasonable actions that would be expected at a charitable giveaway event.

Soliciting or seeking donations of goods, services, or funds from individuals, businesses, or other organizations. Collecting and handling donations. Fundraising or participating in any fundraising events.

It is mutually and expressly understood that volunteer services shall be donated, and that said volunteer is not entitled to nor expects any present or future salary, wages, or other benefits for these voluntary services.

Volunteer agrees to follow the supervision and direction of any personnel, employee, or volunteer, to whom volunteer has been assigned to perform services, and to participate in any training required by the charity in order to perform the voluntary services.

Volunteer agrees that he/she will not be considered to be an employee of the charity, for any purposes, while performing the above-described voluntary services.

Volunteer further understands that if volunteer is responsible for injuries to third parties or damages to their property while acting outside the scope of assigned volunteer duties, that said volunteer may be held personally liable for any monetary damages a court may award to the injured party.

Volunteer does hereby release and forever discharge and hold harmless CAROLINA CARES INC. and its successors and any business sponsor and their parent company and assigns from any and all liability, claims, and demands of whatever kind or nature, either in law or in equity, that arise or may hereafter arise from Volunteer's Activities with CAROLINA CARES INC. VOLUNTEER UNDERSTANDS THAT THIS RELEASE DISCHARGES CAROLINA CARES INC. FROM ANY LIABILITY OR CLAIM THAT THE VOLUNTEER MAY HAVE AGAINST CAROLINA CARES INC. WITH RESPECT TO ANY BODILY INJURY, PERSONAL INJURY, ILLNESS, DEATH, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE THAT MAY RESULT FROM VOLUNTEER'S ACTIVITIES WITH CAROLINA CARES NC, INC., WHETHER CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF CAROLINA CARES INC. OR ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS OR OTHERWISE. VOLUNTEER ALSO UNDERSTANDS THAT CAROLINA CARES INC. DOES NOT ASSUME ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR OR OBLIGATION TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE OR OTHER ASSISTANCE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MEDICAL, HEALTH, OR DISABILITY INSURANCE IN THE EVENT OF INJURY OR ILLNESS.

Treatment. Volunteer does hereby release and forever discharge CAROLINA CARES INC. from any claim whatsoever which arises or may hereafter arise on account of any first aid, treatment, or service rendered in connection with the Volunteer's Activities with CAROLINA CARES INC.

Assumption of the Risk. The Volunteer understands that the Activities may involve work that may be hazardous to the Volunteer, including, but not limited to, [Insert types of work the volunteer will perform], and transportation to and from the work sites. Volunteer hereby expressly and specifically assumes the risk of injury or harm in the Activities, and releases CAROLINA CARES INC. from all liability for injury, illness, death, or property damage resulting from the Activities.

The Volunteer understands that, except as otherwise agreed to by CAROLINA CARES INC. in writing, CAROLINA CARES INC. does not carry or maintain health, medical, workers’ compensation, or disability insurance coverage for any Volunteer. Each Volunteer is expected and encouraged to obtain his or her own medical or health insurance coverage. The Volunteer understands that they are not considered an employee of CAROLINA CARES INC. for any purpose.

Volunteer expressly agrees that this Release is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of North Carolina, and that this Release shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina. Volunteer also agrees that in the event that any clause or provision of this Release shall be held to be invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, the invalidity of such clause or provision shall not otherwise affect the other remaining provisions of this Release which shall continue to be enforceable. Volunteer further agrees that volunteer will fully cooperate with the charity and its agents in any investigation, lawsuit, arbitration, or any other legal or quasi-legal proceedings that arise from the matters covered by this agreement. Volunteer further agrees to notify the charity immediately of any incident that occurs or may occur within the knowledge of the volunteer, which gives rise to liability on the part of the volunteer of the charity.

Release. Volunteer does hereby grant and convey unto CAROLINA CARES INC. all right, title, and interest in any and all photographic images and video or audio recordings made by CAROLINA CARES INC. during the Volunteer's Activities with CAROLINA CARES INC., including, but not limited to, any royalties, proceeds, or other benefits derived from such photographs or recordings. Volunteer understands and agrees that any photography or video recordings including audio recordings can and will be used by the charity at their sole discretion.

Volunteer agrees to a that follows what a reasonable person would expect from a volunteer working with or for a charity or small business in the United States. Volunteer agrees to not solicit other volunteers, clients, the charity, and/or business sponsor or their employees, agents, or representatives for any goods or services, both commercial and of a personal nature.

I also understand that my volunteer assignment may be terminated at any time by either party to this agreement.
